Márcia Regina Cominetti

Associate investigator

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1993-1997) and PhD in Sciences. Concentration Area: Physiology, Federal University of São Carlos (2000-2004). She completed a doctoral degree (2002) at the Department of Microbiology, University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, VA, USA and postdoctoral degree (2005-2006) at the Institute de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM, Unité 553) in Paris, France. She was awarded a Visiting Fellowship (2015) by the University of Nottingham, England. She is currently Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos. Coordinates LABEN – Laboratory of Aging Biology – located in the Department of Gerontology of UFSCar. Leads the research group Biology of Aging registered in the directory of research groups of CNPq. She is a CNPq Productivity Grant 2. She teaches in the postgraduate program in Gerontology (PPGGERO / UFSCar), where she is currently the coordinator and in the Masters and PhD courses of the Interinstitutional Program of Post-Graduation in Physiological Sciences (UFSCar / UNESP). She has experience in the field of Cell Biology and Biochemistry, with emphasis in Molecular Biology, working mainly in the following subjects: aging, elderly, biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive fragility, ADAMs, cancer and mammalian cell culture
