Cellco Biotec is a start-up company based at CIBFar-CEPID and supported by FAPESP via PIPE Program. Cellco was founded in 2014 by three Ph.D. alumni from IFSC-USP in partnership with a German company named Jena Bioscience. Together they created a joint venture to
- perform innovative research in Brazil.
- produce and commercialize biotechnology supplies; and
- offer consultin services.
Through a formal contract with IFSC/USP, Cellco can use the CIBFar infrastructure to conduct part of their research and development of products, whereas the commercial production takes place at Cellco’s headquarters in São Carlos.
