47th World Chemistry Congress celebrates 100 years of IUPAC

The year 2019 will be very special for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), with the holding of the 50th General Assembly of the institution and the holding of the 47th World Chemistry Congress, events that will be part of IUPAC’s 100th Anniversary celebrations. will take place between July 5th and 12th, with the Congress Palace located in the French capital – Paris.

Subordinate to the theme Frontiers in Chemistry – Let’s Create our Future: 100 Years with IUPAC, and as it is mentioned in its official portal, the theme of this congress that commemorates the centenary of the IUPAC translates into a common language for the chemistry and, although the celebration recognizes the successes of IUPAC’s first 100 years, its aim is not to limit itself to the past but to look to the future of this international community of chemists who can continue to contribute now and in the future to meet the needs of the world, through chemical research.

 

In addition to the highlight of IUPAC’s 100th anniversary celebrations, for the São Carlos Institute of Physics of University of São Paulo – IFSC/USP the satisfaction and pride go to include the name of its professor and researcher, Prof. Adriano Andricopulo, as a member of the International Advisory Board of the event, the only representative of Latin America and who will share responsibilities with leading scientists in the world, including five Nobel laureates in chemistry, namely Yuan T. Lee (1986) Ryoji Noyori (2001), Kurt Wütrich (2002), Gerhard Ertl (2007) and Dan Shechtman (2011).

Entries for this event will open in September of this year (2018), and the submission of papers will begin in October of this year and the dates will be announced shortly.
