By Agência FAPESP – The Center for Research and Innovation in Biodiversity and Drug Discovery (CIBFar), one of the Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (CEPIDs) financed by FAPESP, offers a post-doctoral opportunity with a FAPESP grant. The registration period ends on March 4, 2019.
The researcher will integrate a group of researchers in natural products, medicinal chemistry and drug planning at CIBFar, based at the São Carlos Institute of Physics, University of São Paulo (IFSC-USP). The postdoctoral fellow will work with computer systems to identify chemical structures in databases of natural products and biodiversity that may result in the planning of new active compounds.
The Fellow will investigate the integration of molecular modeling and in vitro studies to select natural bioactive compounds from Brazilian biodiversity.
Applicants must hold a doctorate degree obtained no longer than seven years, at home or abroad, and experience in medicinal chemistry and natural products, chemical databases and chemoinformatics. Fluency in English and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams are required.

The postdoctoral opportunity is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the amount of R $ 7,373.10 per month and Technical Reserve equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship to meet unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
